Bryce Canyon, Utah

I was going through some old photos when I came across these. I remembered I had taken these with the intention of merging them all one day. This, before I knew that photoshop could do it for you in a matter of seconds rather than hours, (how I was expecting to put these together). I took this trip like 2 years ago, right after I graduated. This was my first stop on a one week road trip that I took across the southwest.

The columns you see below are called "Hoodoo's." As wikipidea explains it: A hoodoo (also tent rock, fairy chimney, earth pyramid) is a tall thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos are composed of soft sedimentary rock and are topped by a piece of harder, less easily-eroded stone that protects the column from the elements.

Bryce Canyon is a must, if you ever want to check out some AWESOME landscapes. Notice the storm, off in the distance sweeping across the plateau.

Rotten Apples....

Here are a couple of apple studies done in oil that I did way back when I was at Art Center. We had to paint one painting a week, so I have a huge stack of these that have not seen the light of day for a few years now. The theme I chose? Apples of of course.

So after hearing from a couple of people that I needed to post something (Whitney) and realising that it had been months since my last post, I brushed up this piece that I did at Bob's work shop a while back.
